Pool Sharks

Pool Sharks
Pool Sharks takes a classic game and shrinks it down to fit onto any tabletop. Many enjoy playing pool and usually tabletop versions of the game fall short in capturing the real game experience. Gamewright's version, Pool Sharks adds a twist to the game of pool that you can play practically on any flat surface.

Instead of using a cue stick to strike the cue you will use a shark shooter. Pull back the lever once for less power or pull back the level twice for a more powerful punch. Once the balls are racked, decide who will break. If you sink a solid ball, then you are solids and want to try to sink the rest of them. The same thing goes for if you sink a stripe. Game play is pretty much like a standard game of 8 ball except there isn't an 8 ball to sink last. You only have to worry about sinking your five balls before the other player sinks theirs. The first player to sink all of their balls wins the game.

The game comes with the tabletop pool table, fish pockets, and two shark shooters. Either two people can play or two teams can play. Pool Sharks is for ages 8 and up. It will take about 15 minutes to play the game.

Pool Sharks is a fun way to enjoy the game of pool on a small scale. The shark shooters make control of hitting the cue easy for small hands. Usually small pool tables can't really be used to actually play pool. It's usually too flimsy to have any success. With Pool Sharks, you are getting a small pool table that can actually be used and enjoyed.

One downfall of the design is the shark pockets. Once you sink a ball, it's nearly impossible to fish it out without either turning the table upside down or removing the pocket. It is farily easy to remove the pocket. Once two balls have been sunk into the same pocket, it is basically full. So you may have to empty a pocket during a game. Of course for small fingers removing the balls might be easier than for an adult.

Overall Pool Sharks is entertaining and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
